Advanced Obedience
The Advanced Obedience Class is more intensive than Basic Obedience. It is open for dogs of all ages assuming they have completed Basic Obedience or the equivalent thereof. This class is offered in a private setting first until they understand the commands and then offered in a group setting. It can be scheduled once a week at your convenience. Each class is scheduled for a half hour for the private class or an hour for the group class.
During these classes your dog will learn voice commands and hand signals including:
- Long stays - This teaches the dog to stay even when the owner is out of sight
- Distance obedience - Dogs will learn to sit, stand, or lay down from a command given at a distance
- Altered response obedience - This teaches dogs obedient responses when the commands change part way through. Owners will call their dog halfway, and then have them stop to sit, stand, or down
- Heeling off leash and at different speeds
